Acceptable Use Policy
Definitions
In this Acceptable Use Policy references to our "Network" mean our WiFi
hotzone network, references to the "Services" mean connectivity to the
internet using our Network, and references to our "Website" means www.wifi-hotzone.com
Principles
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all use of our Website,
our Network and the Services. You are reminded that, in accordance with our Terms
and Conditions, any failure to comply with this AUP may result in the suspension
and/or termination of your use of our Website and/or our Network and/or the Services
without warning. The primary goals of this AUP are:
- to protect the internet infrastructure, and other internet users
- to protect our servers, Network and customers, and our ability to provide services
to our customers
- to protect our reputation and ensure we are able to act as a responsible internet
service provider.
It is based on some general standards of behaviour accepted by the general internet
community, but is not an exhaustive document. We reserve the right at all times
to act to protect our reputation, networks and servers.
The internet and its infrastructure fundamentally rely on mutual co-operation and
consideration between both users and service providers. Therefore, both we and you
have a responsibility to maintain the highest standards in these respects for the
benefit of all. Furthermore, if we permit any abuse of the internet via or related
to our services, our ability to provide services to you and other customers may
be impaired.
Responsibility for Persons Accessing Services using your password
Remember that, according to our Terms and Conditions, you are responsible for the
actions of anyone that you allow to access the Services using your password, so
you must ensure that anyone else who you permit to use the Services using your password
is aware of and complies with this AUP.
Acceptable Use
You assume total responsibility for all content and materials distributed, transmitted,
accessed or viewed while using the Services.
Illegal and Unlawful Use
You may only use the Services, our Network and our Website for lawful purposes.
Access to and transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation
of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. You must not use the Services,
our Network or our Website to access or provide access to or distribute, transmit
or store any illegal or unlawful material or material which may violate the rights
of any third party. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright,
trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper
authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal
threat, violates export control laws or is discriminatory, inflammatory or in breach
of confidence and/or privacy.
Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, you must not use the Services to
access, view, transmit or distribute pornographic material or other offensive material.
You must not use the Services to post or transmit viruses or any harmful component.
You must not exceed any agreed limits or restrictions of any kind on the use of
the Services (including, without limitation, disk usage, bandwidth usage or data
transfer quotas).
You must not use the Services for the purpose of obtaining unauthorised access to
any computer or service.
You must not use the Services to facilitate, allow or assist in any "Denial
of Service" (DoS) attack.
You must not use the Services in a manner that will detrimentally affect our servers
(including, without limitation, consuming excessive resources) or our ability to
provide services to other customers.
Electronic Mail and E-Mail
You must not use the Services to send, or facilitate, permit or assist in the sending
of, any volume of unsolicited mail messages (often referred to as SPAM) however
large or small. This includes, without limitation, commercial advertising and informational
announcements. You must not use or authorise the use of unsolicited e-mail or newsgroup
postings to advertise any services. This applies even if you do not send the communications
via the Services. These activities use excessive resources, incur great cost and
annoy customers - we (and most responsible ISP's) are strictly against this
in any form. Complaints regarding these activities may lead to the immediate suspension
of your use of the Services and/or our Network and may lead to the closure of your
account.
You must not use the Services to transmit e-mail to a person or company via, or
relating to, the Services after they have specifically requested that you do not
contact them. It is your responsibility to ensure that any automated mail system
you employ complies with this.
You must not use the Services to collect replies to communications sent from any
source, where those communications violate this AUP or the usage policy of the source
provider.
Usenet and Newsgroup
Posting the same or similar message to one or more newsgroups (excessive cross-posting
or multiple-posting) is explicitly prohibited.
System Usage and Network Security
Violation of system or network security are prohibited and may result in criminal
and/or civil liability. We will investigate incidents involving such violations
and may involve and co-operate with law enforcement authorities if a criminal violation
is suspected. Examples of system or network security violations include, but are
not limited to:
